I am known to be a huge fan of preppy style; I’m still waiting for Mr. Lauren to come to the light and hire me. Although I think Lacoste is a great line with, clean, crisp and timeless designs, it’s just never really been one of my personal favs. I have spent an ungodly amount of money on Ralph Lauren but have skipped over the Lacoste section altogether. While I love consistency, they stick to the basics a little too much for me and I personally thrive on creativity…..Ok, what’s the point of this post again? Shoes, right? Yes, this new collection from Lacoste totally breaks the mold of their always safe designs. They may be a little late on the creativity, as many brands have done this by now, such as Nike, but I still give them an “A+” for effort. These Ibiza’s, a classic and extremely consistent shoe from Lacoste, have an added 80’s/pop art flare, with a graduated pixel print. They remind me of a combination of the Alife Everybody Mid Pro’s and the more obvious resemblance to the Nike Dunk Octogon Pixel Pack. I would actually rock the black and white pair, if I ever actually bought something from Lacoste (I have an issue with wearing a mixture of brands if the brand on my feet is known for their clothing….don’t ask why).
