I‘ve been working on the rebranding concept for Tecknicolor for most of the year and I seemed to be going around in circles on how I planned to move forward. I would get an idea that I would love for a week or two, then I would think of a new concept and the cycle continued until I would paralyze the entire process and wonder why I was doing this in the first place.
This is not the first time I’ve been in this spot and it probably won’t be the last. It’s perfectly human to forget what you’re purpose is or lose sight of the path you’re on and from what I’m told it happens to everyone. The important thing to remember is to not let it defeat your progression and growth.
I’d be lying if I said I’m completely over it and that I know 100% how I plan to proceed, but I’m refusing to let that stop me from moving. That’s the reason I’m writing this blog. Although I do have a basic outline on what I’m going to do move forward based on my end year goals, that’s not what has been stopping me. I know what is it that’s been keeping me stagnant. Although it seems like a small and obvious step to reach my goals, the most important of those steps is…
- I have a blog
- I’m going to get back to blogging with a schedule that I stick to no matter what. That’s too vague… I’m going to blog every Monday and Thursday
- I’m a designer
- I’m going to design on a similar schedule. I get paid to design, but if it’s not relevant it will probably be non-contracted work. I might not be designing (or selling) t-shirts necessarily, but designing is something that has been and will always be a staple of Tecknicolor.
- Special Project that I can’t tell you about yet, but…. I’m super excited about. I’ve had it on hold (more like never started) for years and kept putting it off because I thought it didn’t “make sense”. I’m going to keep pushing until the project is launched.
That is the mission and I would be grateful if you would follow along with me, as well as hold me accountable to this mission.
Even better than just following along…. I’d love it if you’d let me know what you’ve committed to doing consistently to make your dreams a reality.
