I have never actually owned a pair of Jordan Four’s before. February 18th will own my first, but definitely not my last, pair. I’m pretty excited about this release, but then I could say that about most of the sneakers I buy. As you can see in the design above, like most, I’m particularly fascinated with the cement print. I usually give a break down of how I came up with the shirt design and the whole design process, from sketch to shirt. However, I don’t always sketch out ideas before I take them to the computer and this was one of those times. So although there are a few variations of this design (I’ll post up the rejects later), there are no sketches to show. Some designs take a long while to think of and some immediately come to mind. The Power of Four tee is one of immediate ideas. The handle of the hammer says “Whoever wears this shirt, if he be worth, shall possess the power of…. ” and the you can see the word “FOUR” made up of cement with the hammer and shoe coming out of it.

I’m well aware of the over saturation of the sneaker related brands and street wear in general. I try my best to come up with designs that aren’t “typical” in an attempt to stand  out from the bunch. That’s not the easiest task when most of our favorite sneakers have a specific popular selling point or theme, like MARS or cement. These selling points are the familiar and identifiable attributes we buy the these shoes for. However, I believe there’s a way to be in line with the shoes best features while staying original. So I hope you enjoy my spin on the Four’s concept.

Since I decided to go my own route and do a Thor themed design, I figured it would be appropriate to sell movie posters as well. I didn’t know how this would go over, so only had one poster printed up and the rest are up for presale. I’m probably going to have a giveaway for the one I have on hand so stay tuned.

This is the very first shirt to feature the sheep mascot. I’m not sure if I intended for it to happen that way. I design so many things so much of the time, that I sometimes don’t remember that a lot of you don’t get to see the other yet to be or never to be released designs. So for me this is one of many.

The text on the shirt says  “Concord wishes and Tecknicolor dreams”. I got that from the slogan of the show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famaous. Every episode the British dude used to say “Champagne wishes and caviar dreams” (he had a very distinct voice and I can do a great impression).  Because the shoes design was inspired by spats which were popularly worn in the 30′s and 40′s by gangsters (at least in the movies), tuxedo wearers and other fancy clothing types, the shoe is often thought of in close ties with  formal wear. Formal wear makes me think of fancy people, doing fancy things, wearing fancy pants. So, this is what brought me to this slogan.

Seeing as how I don’t drink and know nothing about champagne, I wasn’t able to come up with anything very clever that actually related to champagne or caviar for that matter. However, I did have this pic I took of a vintage coke machine on my phone in Cracker Barrel from a while ago. Who would believe one of my random useless pics would be useful later? The thing that stood out in my mind were the words “ICE COLD”. As you know one of the key selling points of any Jordan 11 colorway is the icy sole. So I thought I was really on to something. So, after pushing out a kazillion Coke inspired designs that I’m much to lazy to post right now. I remembered this:

The infamous Karl Lagerfeld, head designer for Chanel, designed a Coke bottle featuring his silhouette, wearing his signature black as white garb. How can you get any fancier than Karl Lagerfeld?

I replaced Karl with my sheep mascot as fancy tuxedo wearing waiter. He’s carrying a tray with a Concord Cola bottle in an X shaped bucket of ice. The ice is the same color of the soles of the Concord 11′s on his feet. Beside the X ice bucket is a champagne fluke which is an I…..and there you haave the Concord Jordan 11′s design.

This shirt will be up for presale on Concord (Black) Friday. If you order this shirt during the presale period you will also receive a custom tee with your name on it. The Unike’d College Fund shirt. There are only a certain amount available for free with the Concord Cola tee and after those are gone the Concord tees will be sold alone.

Heir Jordan is a new site that, as the video shows, is going to give us a glimpse into the life of Michael Jordan’s sons, Marcus and Jeffery Jordan. I guess they’re capitalizing on the hype that surrounds them based on their dad and from the looks of this video they’re going to include sneaker features as well.  I saw this video on Nice Kicks first and I saw a lot of negative comments. If they don’t mind the slight invasion of privacy, then I don’t see what’s wrong with actually giving the people what they want and are going to ask for anyway. Everybody represents their own personal brand in someway or another (yes even you and me). The hype around them is never going to go away, so their personal brand has almost been partially created for them. As a business minded individual this seems like a natural progression into them creating their own sense of self, professionally, personally, and as I said, business wise. Also the name is pure genius.
